We are excited to invite you the the new year of Rough Cuts. In its current form we are entering year 6 of Ryan and I gathering friends like you to watch, critique and learn from each other.
It is always such a pleasure when the first Wednesday of the month comes around.
last month was a so great, I think with our industry slowing down for the cold months we got to see so many people old and new. We packed out the new space with about 90 filmmakers. Standing room only might be what you can expect again this month. I'm looking forward to seeing you.
Thank you for showing up for each other, showing up for whatever films we play this week.

Our location, called HUDDLE, is a new community event space brought to you by the good folks at J2. Thank you to @coling and @LiamNielsenshultz for an amazing introduction and fitting the space out with a great projector and sound system for improved screening experience.
Here is How it Works.
We show 8 films that are under 10 mins, with efforts of having a diverse representation of people, voices, backgrounds and experience levels. 4 spots are reserved for minority filmmakers.
We have a monthly event where we show films by people who are in the audience with us. We love to see your recently finished work also.
There is no need to RSVP or register your film before the event. Show up on time and sign up on the list.

You should always invest more in your skills and knowledge than your camera bag. You should definitely at least start listening to Jordan Brady‘s podcast called Respect the Process . Also, he has a book that will cost you $10 on Amazon.
And if you are ready for more, his online courses are a great place to learn about the process of directing commercials.

There are some possibilities that Jordan might host an in-person bootcamp in Philly in the spring. So if that is interesting to you, reply to this email to express your interest.
